In an experiment to help ease K.'s recent bout of back pain and sleeping problems we switched sides of the bed last night to see if that would yield any improvement. For most of the last five years I have slept on the left side of the bed. I can sleep just about anywhere so I had no problems making the switch for the night. I did I wake up briefly in the middle of the night, slightly confused as to where I was and with whom I'd gone home. Once I realized it was K. and not Raoul Bova Eddie Cibrian Eric Bana I fell back asleep in comfort.
Which side of the bed to you sleep on?
How do you know which side is which - is your reference point from overhead, or lying face up, or face down?
If it's face up (or I guess if we're sitting up in bed), I'm on the left.

Whichever bedroom I'm sleeping in I'll choose the side that seems most appropriate for that room; once I've chosen then it tends be the same for evermore in that room. For example in my present home in Scotland I sleep on the right of my king-size bed, but when that bed was in my last Scottish home I slept on the left. In my Spanish home I sleep on the left. Basically I usually like to be on the side nearest a window or that seems to offer the best 'feng shui' ;) in other ways - in hotel rooms this means I can vary from night to night if I'm travelling.

When we went to Brussels earlier this year I landed up on the left and it was WEIRD!
Posted by: Scheherazade at May 14, 2008 2:33 PMI generally tend to sleep on top of the mattress.
Posted by: Jodi at May 14, 2008 3:36 PMAs I'm generally the only one in my bed :( I sleep right in the middle.
