So many of you have e-mailed me, offering congratulations and praise. Not a few of you asked if I had anything to do with it. Much as I would like to take some credit, the only thing I did was fan the flames of freedom for those too feeble to fend for themselves. Finally, there is some justice in the world.
Star Jones is no longer on television. My arch-rival is fallen.
It's a wonderful new day for America. Millions of liberated housewives. Do you see hear them marching through the streets? Listen closely -- the fuzzy slippers don't make much noise.
Posted by mak at June 29, 2006 7:29 AMSo you're the one to blame for the bitch now being home all day!
Posted by: Al Reynolds at June 29, 2006 9:06 AMNO! You are missing the big picture. This is terrifying. While on the View she was kept like an evil genie in the bottle that is a day-time hen fest. Avoidable. Now who knows where she will end up? Prime time? Multiple smaller gigs unpredicably popping up all over the place? In our very homes eating our pets and defecating on our furniture? This is bad indeed.
Posted by: jason at June 29, 2006 11:01 AMI thought we were fighting Star over there so we wouldn't have to fight her over here. Now we're going to have to fight her over here? Great.
Posted by: Jeff at June 29, 2006 11:47 AMNow that ABC's given her the boot, maybe Payless will give her a new vehicle, "The Shoe."
Posted by: bob at June 29, 2006 1:07 PMI agree with Jason... At least on the View, Rosie could have sat on her or something, but now on her own, scary!
Posted by: Jenn at June 29, 2006 2:21 PMI really don't follow the whole pop-culture/celebrity thing, but from Day 1 I have loathedStar Jones. She strikes me as a transparently insincere beyotch, a C-lister who thinks she's Julia Roberts. May she now fade from public consciousness, to live on only in the collective memory of the gays as one of the divas we love to hate.
Posted by: Andy at June 29, 2006 7:00 PMsoon to have her own line of elastic-waisted, double knit polyester, coordinates at k-mart. available in plus sizes, too, for those who are [stomach bypass] pre-op.
it's what jaclyn smith did.
it's what kathy lee did.
it IS her destiny.
you'll see.
Posted by: jiminy at June 29, 2006 9:31 PMWARNING: For those of you that want to promote hate… Do not read this message!
Who in the world was Suzagoob praying to when she said "Whoo-Hoo" that another human being lost their job? It is certainly not the one and ONLY true living God because “God is Love!”
I have never seen such heartless and careless comments in one place in my life – Did anyone else realize that another h-u-m-a-n-b-e-i-n-g just lost her job. If anyone is happy about that or the fact that Starr could be having marriage related problems-- then you really need to check yourself and get a life [even though I do not believe those rumors]! I pray that you will see that the real enemy is every unloving comment that y’all have made here today. What a waste of such precious life time! There does not seem to be any sincere friendships amongst women at all and especially not between women of color--- what a shame!
What was the VIEW supposed to be but a mere mirror of our daily relationships? Undoubtedly, some of our daily relationships do not include everyone….and Oh what a shame that is. I wonder what the parent(s) of the police officers are saying that raised sons who de-masculated a black man on a police precinct bathroom floor. I wonder if those same parents poisioned the minds of their children with some of the same sentiments that most of you have expressed here on this website for the entire world to see without any shame.
I doubt very seriously that this will wake you up, because at this point your heart is hardened like that of Pharaoh, but even so I pray that some day the scales will be removed from your eyes.
I am surprised at Barbara Walters and Joys’ lack of sincerity. Can you imagine working with Barbara for 9 years and never really knowing her at all? Barbara was at her wedding… and probably stood next to her at every pressing personal situation up to those 9 years and was never sincere. That’s pretty scary and I am sure an experience that Starr did not expect to find herself in! I will always be suspect of every interracial friendship relationship and always question the sincerity more than relationships with people of color-- Deep down inside, I am sad to say that I think white women stand together despite what false front they put on in your face… “Yes, America – it’s a skin thang promoted by division! “Hmm…DIVISION, now who started that?– When will WE learn?” I do believe that if Starr were a white women there would not be a negative comment made on this site about her at all.
God Bless You Starr Jone-Reynolds and Your Husband -- may He give you both the strength that you need to get through these times which will not be easy – but He will never give us anymore than we can bear. Blessings to You and Your Husband!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. The last time I checked Jesus died for everyone!
Thanks for the shout-out, WHATisLOVE! I've been feeling like the forgotten victim in all of this. I have to LIVE with her! Where is the compassion for me!!
Hell, even Rose O'Donnell won't write me poetry, or whatever that is that she does on her blog. It sucks, I tell you... sucks!
But I've also gotta tell you: my Star is no h-u-m-a-n-b-e-i-n-g. She wouldn't even be a h-u-m-a-n-b-e-i-n-g if you broke that into two words! She's inhuman!
I've got to run now... I hear her coming, and she doesn't sound happy.
Posted by: Al Reynolds at June 30, 2006 1:21 PMUmmm... ok. And apparently your "precious life time" was well spent educating all of us dumb ones about the virtues of Star...
Personally, I was just pissed that she didn't invite me to the wedding but that's a whole other story.
Posted by: Jenn at June 30, 2006 2:44 PMWho is this WhatisLove nutjob? I think it's Star Jones herself (who else loves her?) or perhaps one of her insectoid minions, most likely hatched from a pod which she shed from her own carapace telling the world a BS cover story about losing weight.
Yes a h-u-m-a-n-b-e-i-n-g lost her job. A hateful one who never missed an opportunity to cast her own judgements on other people while simultaneously making any and every topic all about her.
I'm sure "WhatisLove" is all full of Jesus. Been there. I had a three way with him and his cousin Carlos last Sunday.
Posted by: jason at June 30, 2006 3:28 PMDear Starr,
I hear McDonald's is hiring and from what I can tell, WhatisLove will give you a raving recommendation.
Sincerly,
A white boy from the city
Maybe Star can get a job on the 700 Club?
Posted by: palochi at June 30, 2006 4:54 PMWell, it's true that WHATisLOVE has caught us pants-down in the middle of an orgy of Schadenfreude, and so to that end I confess that I have been tacky (though, not nearly as nearly as tacky as Star Jones' bathroom, which contains a framed picture of herself. Weird! Yes, God loves Star, but that doesn't mean He's necessarily down with her self-serving behavior and her delusion that everyone is fascinated by her. I wish her all the best and know that God will lead her to the next business opportunity when the time is right, be it at K-Mart or McDonald's or BET or whatever.
Posted by: Andy at July 1, 2006 12:51 PMThe only reason why she should've stayed on The View was to have Rosie beat the shit out of her in front of a live studio audience.
If they sold tickets, Barbara would be standing at the door with a cash register.
Now that she's gone, it's going to be like the tree falling in the woods.
If Star falls from the sky, will anyone give a fuck when she lands?
