To Moscow (And London), With Love

When I stopped auditioning back in 2002 I never thought I'd sing in public again. And yet today, four years later, I made my singing debut at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, singing Shostakovich's Symphony Number Two. I have no words to describe the experience. The choir was amazing. The orchestra and guest conductor - coming from Russia to perform with us - were amazing. Standing on stage and looking at a thousand people listening attentively to all of that glorious (and crazy - have you heard much Shostakovich?) music was amazing. I am a truly happy boy tonight.

I've put off a final London wrap-up, mostly because I've been too busy since returning to the States, and now I've lost the momentum. All I have to say is that it was one of the best trips I've ever taken. What made it the most amazing was that I got to spend so much time with some of my best friends - friends from my past who I have cherished and held from afar, and who I am forever grateful to have known and loved. Getting to be with Bob is always a treat, but getting to spend time with Meghan and Rachel (my fabulous Brighton Lesbians) was the icing on the cake. It was five frenzied days of fun that I will never forget.

In looking through the photographs I took on my vacation I was sad to see that there were so few of them. And of the few of them, there were even fewer good photos. I enjoyed myself so much while I was there that I never wanted to be bothered taking out the camera and not actually experiencing it all. That being said, I've salvaged a few and you can peruse them in the new photo gallery (link in the sidebar at right). Happy browsing!

Glad to hear the show went well. Sounds exciting.

Is it just me or do your pics seems to suggest you have this whole "flash cute facial expression while leaning back in an artful and casual pose" thing down to a science?

Do you practice? Who's your choreographer?
