We don't set the clocks back until next week, but I've been doing so much moving ahead that I'll fall too far behind if I don't do a quick update. Let me tell you what I did with my weekend, in no particular order:
- Made two pumpkin pies. I admit that I didn't make my own crust this time because I was lazy. But the new filling recipe I discovered kicks ass.
- Reunited with my long-lost wife and got tipsy with her. Discovered the joys of crepes, wine, more wine, and riding the N train back from SoHo at midnight.
- Started watching the first season of Nip/Tuck on DVD and became instantly addicted. And instantly grossed out. It's so good.
- Visited the Bronx Zoo for the first time. It was a gorgeous day, and it was also "Boo At The Zoo" day, with hundreds of toddlers running around in animal costumes. I nearly had a heart attack in the reptile house when I felt something crawling up my leg. I screamed and jumped about ten feet straight up into the air before I realized it was a two-year old in a monkey costume and not a boa constrictor or monitor lizard.
- Got the official green light and made my first visit back to the gym. Decided not to try to lift, but got in a great cardio workout on the elliptical while listening to the new Robbie Williams album. I enjoyed it so much that I barely noticed the chest pains.
- Forgot it was my parents' thirty-fourth wedding anniversary until they called to remind me. Oops. I don't usually forget to call. But at least they knew not to expect a card. I suck at remembering cards.
So it's been a busy few days. The next few are going to prove equally as hectic, so don't panic if I don't get another post up before Wednesday or Thursday.
Although, I may have an audio-visual treat for you that would prove completely humiliating for me...stay tuned.

Posted by: tribecatexan at October 25, 2005 12:52 AMNothing like a costumed child humping your leg in the herpetarium.
Posted by: Glenn at October 25, 2005 8:04 AMListen, a 2 year-old in a monkey costume is every bit as scary as a monitor lizard. Those things ought to be on leashes. I'm glad you're ok.

See I'm not the only one who becomes girly around amphibians.
Posted by: mark at October 25, 2005 11:36 AMYou are a braver man than I Gunga Din... no way in HELL you would ever get me into a reptile house - even if there were 30 porn stars I could have my way with and Kevin Williams was there professing his love for me and asking for my hand in marriage...
