I'm so glad we made it to New Orleans this summer before it got washed off the map. Here's hoping they have a speedy recovery and that their losses are few. I'll do my part to aid the local economy by ordering several cans of coffee and boxes of beignet mix from Café du Monde. Nothing says "Help Thy Neighbor" like getting fat.
We interrupt this broadcast for a word from our host: here's my unsolicited sales pitch for a great company called New York Old School. The lovely and talented (or so I've heard) Jodi sent me a link to their site several months back and I finally got around to ordering my new favorite t-shirt. Their stuff is great, and the people who run the show were helpful and funny. Check them out.
In general blog maintenance news, I've finally updated my blogroll menu. I've removed dead links and added some great new blogs to the list. Peruse the revised blogroll and spread the love. If you think I removed you in error, or if you'd like a reciprocal link that I've missed, drop me an e-mail.
And finally, the trip to Cleveland was extraordinarily tame by my family's standards. That's not to say that some of the conversation topics at our Friday night cookout wouldn't have sent Jerry Falwell or Fred Phelps into cardiac arrest. But all things considered, we were all very well behaved. I'll recap later this week, and include some photos if I actually get around to loading them on my computer.
I rarely get flustered. But today when I saw my little blog in YOUR blog roll, I was as giddy as a school-girl. Thanks for making my day.
