And We're Back

After a week and a half without air conditioning at work and five days in New Orleans, the relative chill in the air as I waited in the taxi line tonight at JFK was almost a deadly shock to my system. Fortunately, I've gained enough weight from having beignets and cafe au lait sixteen times a day for the past five days that I've developed a nice layer of fluffy insulation and I was able to shrug off the crisp air.

Somebody please call 911 if I don't show up for my reading at Tuesday night's WYSIWYG Talent Show (which, apparently, is completely sold out but you can take a chance and go standby if you haven't already secured your ticket), because it would mean that I've likely had a heart attack and died from all of the divine culinary confections that I ingested on my vacation.

Tickets are indeed sold out for tonight, so they tell me. Bring down the house! At least you'll be tanned and pretty.

Welcome back. I lived for 3 years in New Orleans, and my heart is still there. Believe it or not, you get used to the constant shine of sweat + moisture on your skin 24/7.

Sounds like you had a great time. Good for you!
