It's only taken fifteen months, but I finally met our downstairs neighbors last night. They seem to be a very nice couple and I'm sorry that we didn't have more time to chat. But, after all, it was eleven o'clock when I knocked on their door, asked them to let me into their apartment, through their bedroom and out their window so that I could climb up the fire escape and break into my own apartment because my lock was jammed and my key wouldn't open my front door. So, naturally, I was in just a little bit of a rush.
