A Moment Like This

Going into it, I really didn't think of the evening was going to be that gay. But as I said yesterday, everyone else deemed it Fagathon '05. I dismissed their charges (and the looming storm clouds) and went happily into the night.

Then I showed up for the concert.

And by god, it really was that gay. There were two types of audience members: prepubescent girls and homosexuals. And sometimes it was hard to tell them apart.

Audience demographics aside, she put on a hell of a good show. Her voice sent goosebumps up my spine, and not just because I was soaking wet from being caught in the torrential downpour while waiting in line. She sang all of her best songs and punked them out just a little bit to help her ditch that Idol image (and she did a good job). But it was her covers of "Piece Of My Heart" and "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" that totally stole the show (her drummer in the black tank top almost stole more of it).

So the evening was pretty gay after all (although judging from your comments, not as gay as you thought it could be). At least I can say that I enjoyed the show and never danced with my arms over my head.

Much.

I clicked on the link and stared dumbfounded while the words slowly registered. The only thought to accompany the heavy sigh...oooh, he's such a good fag.

well done.

Now that I know this, I don't feel as guilty buying "Since You've Been Gone" from the iTunes store (put on several playlists on my iPod) and actually having liked her performance on SNL a lot. Guess I don't have to turn in my GayCard (TM) for listening to Pearl Jam for all those years after all. Call it penance?

Honestly, I kinda like her new stuff since she's broken from all the Idol crapola. Good for her.

Oooh, I wish I'd been as gay as you.

But is it just me, or does anyone else miss a-little-junk-in-the-trunk brunette Kelly?

I'm still not sure exactly who you are talking about, but you know what I say about guys who dance with their hands over their heads....

Don't slap me.

Ha! MAK, I am certified 20% more gay than you are. I saw Kelly and Clay in concert last summer.

Sounds like you had a blast... thanks for calling! J didn't understand why I was screaming into the cell phone but what are you going to do with hunky straight military men?!? ;o)

Hmph. Clearly I'm going to have to take care of Paul Lynde.

Have you no compassion for the young?

Yeah, when I clicked your first revelatory link here and read the ticket my head swam a little. You're going to have to fix the sink or kill something now to take the edge off that much gay.

It's probably just me, but when I saw the section id printed on the ticket, "GA7", I thought it said "GAY."
