The Run Down

I'm not dead. At least, I don't think so. But I'm exhausted, exhilerated and deliriously content from a week of birthday, Valentine's, WYSIWYG and all around celebrating. Here's a quick summary of what's been going on:

- Saw three new musicals over the course of seven days: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on Monday, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Thursday, and Dessa Rose last night. All three pieces are flawed, but with the exception of Spelling Bee which seems to stay on a one-joke note through the entire piece, I think the pieces rise above the flaws to become highly enjoyable theater. I may or may not post official reviews later, but by far my favorite was Dessa Rose.

- The WYSIWYG Talent Show, of course. For your enjoyment and entertainment, photos and video are now available on their website. Click here to see the media files (click on my name to watch my piece). Thanks again to Chris, Andy and Dan for running an exquisite operation.

- On Saturday night, I had a little birthday celebration out at the bar with a handful of good friends. There were many cocktails. Many, many cocktails. I think my final tally was three (or four) Sapphire & tonics, one mojito and one Stoli Razz & ginger ale. Afterwards was breakfast at the diner. French fries are a wonderful, wonderful creation. My birthdays have been hit or miss since moving to New York, and this one ranks as one of the best.

And that's the rundown on why I'm so run down. But for a change, I'm run down in a pleasant way. And very soon I'll be even more pleasantly run down. On Wednesday night, I will fly across the pond and spend five days in London with my best (or worst) partner in crime. Stay tuned, as in a work week or two I'll no doubt be blogging from a rehab center somewhere.

I wonder if they serve gin in rehab...

Give Bob a kiss for me.

(Forgive the unintentional rhyme.)
